Skoda Laura cars in India
Skoda sells Laura in India in both petrol and diesel variants. The various versions of the car sold include Skoda Laura 1.8 TSI Ambiente, Skoda Laura 1.9 TDI Ambiente MT, Skoda Laura 1.9 TDI Ambiente AT, Skoda Laura 1.9 TDI Elegance MT, Skoda Laura 1.9 TDI Elegance AT and Skoda Laura 2.0 TDI L&K AT. The base version Skoda Laura 1.8 TSI Ambiente is sold at ex-showroom (New Delhi) price of Rs. 13.3, while the high-end version is sold at ex-showroom (New Delhi) price of Rs. 18.1 lakh.
Skoda Laura has overall length of 4569 mm, overall width of 1769 mm and overall height of 1485 mm. The car is sold with wheel base of 2578 mm and ground clearance of 164 mm. Equipped with boot space of 560 liter, Laura has kerb weight of 1355 kg. The 1968 cc power engine of Laura offers power of 140PS @4000rpm and maximum torque of 320Nm @1750rpm. The interiors of the car can comfortably sit 5 persons. The car has fuel storage capacity of 55 liters. The car offers mileage of 15 km/liter on highways and 10 km/liter on city roads. It has overall mileage of 11 km/liter.
The high-end Skoda Laura 2.0 TDI L&K AT has many modern features. The features include power windows, power door locks, power steering, leather seats, rear defroster, front fog lights, tachometer, steering adjustment, central locking, tubeless tyres, alloy wheels, folding rear-seat, cup holders and immobilizer. The car has safety features like anti-lock braking system, driver air-bags, passenger air-bags and child safety locks.
In the Indian market Skoda Laura is sold in various colors. These include candy white, corrida red, storm blue, black magic, diamond silver, sahara beige, brilliant silver, arctic breeze, candy white, cappuccino beige and magic black.
Other cars of Skoda sold in India include Fabia, Octavia, Octavia Combi and Superb. Considering the fast growing small car market of India, Skoda is planning to launch a small car in the market in 2011.
